The Beasts 2022
This reminded me so much of my home town. I very much sympathised with the daughter - why would our parents want to live in this miserable village surrounded by so many xenophobic people? Baffling in many ways.
Originally I only had the subtitles on for the parts in French and Galician, but some of the accents in this are so thick I needed to switch it on for Spanish too. It's pretty nice to see a film in a minority language though.
Anyway, this is great. Immediately gripping and maintains your attention throughout with some excellent performances.

I probably would have enjoyed this more had I not watched it on a plane. Took me a while to understand what was going on at a certain point because the dildo was totally censored, to the point it was invisible. I'm sure I'll give it another watch sometime though.
