This is Wes Anderson at his best ngl. Strong ensemble cast, an interesting premise, and beautiful art styling and unique cinematography.

No lie this is probably one of my favorite movies to come out in the 2010s. The way the story is so universal about what could happen when you're driven to your breaking point by wanting to be great no matter what the cost is, combined with some stellar music and amazing performances by Miles Teller and JK Simmons. I think film classes will teach about this movie in the future. Also proof you don't need a 3 hour epic to tell a complete story, unlike what the rest of Hollywood thinks today.

It's like white people studying abroad and FAFO meets the story structure of Get Out. They do a great job of holding the suspense as long as possible. Very interesting commentary on cultism and the way that a place like this could psychologically break you.

This movie felt like I wasn't supposed to be watching it. I understand it was trying to tackle some tough themes around sexuality, religion, and consent, but it ends up feeling like an uncomfortable mess that I literally don't even want to watch with other people. I appreciate the story it was trying to tell but I wasn't a fan of the execution, and I'm still not exactly sure what happened during the 2nd act of the movie.
