Was the only person in the theater watching this. Sang along and felt along as everyone of Dylan’s beautiful lines washed over me like a wave crashing on shore. What I appreciate most about Dylan is he never felt the need to articulate who he was or who he wanted to become…whether self-imposed or from the outside world identities = constraints and this man was unconstrained. I feel so fortunate I get to head into the weekend listening to so many beautiful songs for the first time.
The colors and personalities of Ingrid and Martha so full and pure, being swirled together in complete comfort but never mixing or diluting each other. Pedro strikes again - "there are a lot of different ways to live inside a tragedy."
It makes me wistful for a time I never lived in. It makes me feel trapped in a gender role I’ve never experienced. But most all, it makes me feel not alone. Jo, like me, constantly seeks more and critiques the norms of the world around her but needs those norms to feel comfortable.
I love the surroundings of every scene as we transition from the luxurious mansions, to the lush French green, to the icy blue of the seaside.…
