We knew Brody was a great actor before this film. 210 minutes later and we have an impressive reminder of his talent but a chunk of our lives we won’t get back. Some of the time leaps and cinematography emphasis raises questions about whether this story would function better as a multi-part docuseries. The writer’s decision to “create” a character of characters is an interesting vehicle to observe and discuss an impactful era but they opted against making the audience…
Interesting POV on a horrific global event. Solid acting and compelling news coverage with the highest stakes. Some time jumps that bump you a bit but they tried to get a bunch of activity into 100 pages. Neat to see how productions operated in the 70s.
Fabulous acting. Though I’m not sure the intimate nudity was necessary, the depiction of the birth scene was exceptionally well done. The dialogue and moments of silence nailed the rhythm and natural cadence of a love story. The movement from past and present also deserves kudos for its effectiveness without obtrusion.
Interesting premise (and continuation). The cinematography is dynamic and airy. The dialogue is interesting at times but the characters don’t quite reel you into the moment. Not sure what we should care about.
