  There’s a belief in Judaism that people die twice - first physically and the second time when their name is no longer spoken. Placing the stone on their grandma’s stoop and unexpectedly having to bring it home is an earnest and smart way of showing how their grandma lives on.

  For a story based on “Surviving America in the 21st Century”, I wish it just ~went there~ a little more. It feels like it’s holding back so much and if you’re a Best Picture winner, you better go there!!! But I suppose we can’t trust Walt Disney Studios & The Academy to best represent the culture either… oh well. At least they authentically did include white people with dreads, LOL. 

  Nonetheless, it was beautifully made and Frances McDormand slays every role she’s in!!
