I didn’t see this for present day me. I saw it for preteen me who first saw the show on Broadway and wore out the insert from her CD case memorizing the lyrics.
And she adored it. Absolutely incredible, visually pleasing, amazing performances. Genuine thanks to everyone who took part in this project and craftily took a culturally iconic stage production to the big screen. I’m giddy.
