This absolutely floored me. Even with high expectations going in. I was captivated the whole time and felt like I was processing each of the directorial choices in real time, which only built upon themselves and continuously enriched the story. Crushed by the ending, by the beginning, by every little intercut and perspective. Men on the moon, MLK’s soaring hopes, scrutinizing a leaf, fighting the urge to be human in an inhumane situation, laughing while decorating a Christmas tree. And the way the POV is used is both revolutionary and so effective in showing how each character sees the world. Devastating

Pound for pound maybe the worst movie I’ve ever seen. What the hell

I’m trying to remember the last time i was in a theater that just sat in silence for minutes after the credits rolled. Maybe Iron Claw, but that was like sniffles and sobs and this was more deep contemplation and finite sadness. That ending was absolutely crushing. What a ride - so funny and sexy at times, scary and intense at others, and a constant oscillation between hopeful mania and disastrous dread. This one will stick with me - maybe my favorite of the year.
