Did not expect so much Revelation (85% of which has left no trace in my mind after my sitting on it for an hour). The remaining 15% is the very smart core of the story, which, for all of its plot points, is very absorbingly focused around a few very very sharply performed and directed scenes. Neatly packaged and yet the efficiency serves the aesthetic sparkle.

“I think I'll probably read Proust... Because sometimes it's good to do what you're supposed to when you're supposed to do it.”
    “Proust is pretty heavy.”
“Yeah, but it's worth it, I hear.”
“No, I meant the book. Carrying it on the plane.”

Cannot be expressed how much shallower the brutalist feels to me after watching this

Still not as good as Phantom Thread but Anderson can really confine you to the inner worlds of these guys (here more via surrealism and some clever impressionistic moves of the excitable, sleek camera) and yet not sacrifice any aesthetic splendor or narrative momentum—this is particularly taut and funny and energized. Unsure whether to inch back forward or go further back in his filmography.
