  hated the first half. if i’m watching a money grab i don’t want to be aware im watching a money grab - put in a little more effort. 
  but the second half… i was so invested 
  i liked a lot of the animation choices and formed emotional bonds. the new characters were annoying until i started to care about their well-being ❤️ 
  would recommend maybe!

  ezekiel norton displays true genius once again. I have never encountered such raw emotion and depth. i finished the movie and immediately had an identity crisis. am i a princess? or am i just a regular girl? i had to remember what barbie said. she told me that i could be both in her coronation speech: “I’m just a regular girl” - Barbie, coronation day.

  Masterpiece recognized.
  It’s always slightly shocking to me to find such a potent display of madness, or dementedness, or some appreciation for eccentricity on the popular screen nowadays, and I thank Tony Kushner for sharing his hallucinations with us. He’s coming to our school to speak with us next year yay!!

  Either the students in my class weren’t impressed and amused because they actually loved it and fear derision and judgement from their peers, or they really have no sense of whimsy.
