First Blood 1982
Still holds up as an action movie, Stallone’s performance is truly harrowing, especially those final five minutes. What I love about the characterization of the sheriff department characters in this is that they all genuinely seem and act like normal people, until they meet Rambo. And then the ego and corruption start to show. I really didn’t pick up on that too much from what I remember of my first watch. What a damn good movie.

This is a movie that really shouldn’t work, but it does. Downright hilarious, every single thing in this movie is done intentional and that’s amazing. All three Amigos do a great job, this style of comedy is honestly ahead of its time for ‘86. I haven’t seen this type of comedy more popularized until the 90’s (Thanks Norm).
