Robert Altman’s one and only horror film.
It’s basically just a collection of scares, but it’s a great collection of scares. The sound effects and score, similar to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, really make the film. And the ending, while predictable, was incredibly unsettling.
Plus, beautiful shots of Irish countryside!

Dull and pointless in every way imaginable. At least other bad films have some colorful eye candy. This film has nothing.
Can’t believe Altman made McCabe and Mrs. Miller only two years after this.
Setting the film aside, I have so much respect for Jean-Luc Godard. To put himself out there, with such bold statements and images, despite the risk of hate and backlash, is commendable. Not all risks in his films pay off, but that’s okay. Many do.
Beautiful film to look at and dialogue to ponder. And I love Jean-Pierre Léaud and Anne Wiazemsky. ❤️
This Dwayne Johnson Jumanji movie just happens to have Paddington in it. 🤷🏼
