a shell of the original musical. seems like they only begrudgingly made it a musical so they had a chance to “modernize” it and pander to a new audience. most of the songs are completely butchered from the broadway version, if they aren’t just completely cut entirely. the new modern additions are cheesy and trying too hard to appeal to the children i guess? the tik tok kiddos?
