Why didn’t the CIA just leave the ending as is? I don’t see much of a difference between manipulation through patriotism and manipulation through fear. Fox News manipulates through fear all the time!

You can’t think of Crash in any literal sense. You have to take it for what it is, a satirical and metaphorical study of human desire. Due to it’s graphic nature, a lot of people will hate it. Even if you can overlook the provocative imagery, pluck your mind from reality, and really analyze what is being told, you still might hate it. I applaud Cronenberg’s vision though. Few people would consider tackling stories such as this and Naked Lunch.

Thank you, Coralie Fargeat! Thank you for following the path of artists who inspired you and resurrecting a sub genre I care so deeply for. So many movies that I adore, yet I’ve never had the chance to see them, or anything like them, on the big screen.

It’s as if Cronenberg wrote it and Gasper Noé directed it, with a final act reminiscent of Dead Alive and The Elephant Man. Anxiety inducing, campy, hilarious, grotesque, sad, over stimulating, and overall, just balls to the wall fucking insane. Bring back body horror and long live the new flesh!
