  Finally a mainstream film with a lot to say. It almost feels like the Lego Movie if it were rated R. With themes revolving around familial expectation, nihilism, and poverty; action scenes involving butt plugs and dildos; bizarre amounts of references to “Absolutely (Story About a Girl)” by Nine Days, Jamie Lee Curtis with food fingers, KE HUY QUAN and JAMES HONG, a cosmic bagel and even a heartfelt scene between talking rocks; this film is perfectly weird and I love it all. Original ideas still exist, believe it or not; we just need to pay more attention to them.
