The deeper you go into Dylan the less interesting this period gets. It’s too iconic. But man is it iconic for a reason. The lack of any real attempt to get inside Bob's head nicely suited a movie about an artist who's defined by elusiveness and reinvention. Instead the story's told through what matters most — the songs!

    Maximus? More like Minimus.

Really disappointing. Entertaining enough but the material is so shallow and derivative. Lacks anything that made the original special.

Defies ‘good and bad’ and makes you realise how that’s a terrible a way that is to engage with art. Impossible not to admire that this merely exists.

As a whole it doesn’t gel, especially the politics, but I liked what the thing is going for in it's operatic way. Genuinely loved when it leaned into weird, abstract, lofty ideas, theatrical monologues, trippy visuals, and allegories for the creative process... TIME STOP!
