Megalopolis is what would happen if you gave Neil Breen a winning Mega Millions lotto ticket and a copy of The Power Broker and said “have fun, champ”.
I’m not kidding. There’s nothing thematically dissimilar from Adam Driver’s final monologue in the film and Breen’s in Fateful Findings. Both of them are incoherent ramblings of “great men” against bad green screen backdrops. The only difference is, one would think, that Coppola should know better. Apparently he doesn’t.
