It's your everyday coming of age story, but made brilliant by bold artistic decisions (that work), an incredible lead actor, a beautiful showcase of Oslo and a masterful command over dialogue that is so relatable the experience feels spiritual. I'm unsure about the epilogue, which felt one coincidence too many, and the use of a narrator is almost always something I question -- but this is where all my criticism of the movie ends.

Truly something special: The Worst Person in the World is a must see.

A relentless attack on my tear ducts.

Is this how all of sundance is going to be? If so I don't know if my heart can take it.

Is Coda a cinematography wonder? No. Is it one of the most heartwarming, touching and beautiful narratives I have ever seen committed to film? My god yes.

I loved this and Sian Heder has a lifetime fan in me.

Edit: Zero surprise that this film took home damn near every Sundance award it was eligible for. As the festival nears its end CODA remains my favorite film from the lineup.

Oof. Alice is an astronomical miss.

Why on Earth is the twist of this movie advertised front and center only to then subject us to 40 minutes of pointless, derivative scenes to get us to that "twist"? What a waste of screentime.

Common comes out an 18-wheeler looking like Common. No way those are comfortable driving clothes.

Alice turning through the magical books of exposition is the stupidest thing I've seen in a movie this year. Granted, we've got plenty…
