Great cast and the filmmakers did an outstanding job turning NJ into the NYC of that era. Timothee playing all the songs was quite impressive too. Hit all the right beats for a movie about r’n’r even if it didn’t get up to the part in his life where he asked those kids if they liked RATT. Now make one about Little Richard!

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
It can be easy to forget how funny Lynch can be at times. This movie has some very funny moments, especially during the first act. But by the time we get to act three all bets are off and things get as dark if not more dark than Lynch can get. Which is to say this film has it all and I love every second of it. Still blows my mind now in my 40s just as it did when I saw it as a teenager. Plus David fucking Bowie.

Put this on for the kids. Seemed like a fun premise and for awhile it was. A relatively family friendly Farrelly Bros movie. Jack Black doing all the things you expect him to do these days. But the ending really bothered me. If you’ve ever lost a loved one prepare to be appalled.

The running joke in the movie is that Fox makes worse Marvel movies than Disney. But then this movie is terrible rendering that joke unfunny and incorrect. I’d watch X2 or Blade 2 any day of the week over this nonsense. The fourth wall breaking is not funny, nor are the near constant jokes about blow jobs, anal and cocaine funny either. Being offensive can be funny sometimes but it’s not here. Why did I watch this after not liking the first couple Deadpool movies either? I guess I hoped Wolverine would somehow make it better. He didn’t.
