It was so weird whenever a visual flourish from another Russoes movie showed up - a remote display that looked like the RDJ helmet camera, or a character who’s been uploaded to a computer exactly like Toby Jones in Winter Soldier.
Not because of the reminder, but just because it was the only sign this movie was made by actual humans who exist on the same planet as me.
This is very recognizably a massive studio animated movie, even though I feel a lot of verve from discovering a whole different set of conventions and restrictions.
Good example: If a Hollywood movie followed this in dropping all pretense and putting big multilingual labels onscreen whenever a new character appears so kids know what toys to ask for, I’d find it kinda bold too.
