  these two quotes summarize, for me, the most crucial things in this. the reasons jonestown existed in the first place are so throughly explained, to the extent that very rarely did i view the ex-member interviewees as radical or insane in any way. it's a story that gains so much depth and empathy when it's told by those who were there; those who saw…
