The writing is so natural and layered—it never feels preachy, just brutally honest about what it means to be a nurse in a broken system. One of my favorite books of all time and the movie adaptation delivered. Strong performances and shot beautifully.
Everyone should read and/or watch it. Help others and don't be complicit in the suffering of those around you. Maybe then the world would be a better place.
Was it a good concept? Sure, but the script was awful. Cringey dialouge, predictable ending, and a totally unrealistic courtroom portrayal. Truly felt like a made for tv movie.
I will say, Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, and Chris Messina give good performances with what they had to work with.
