I'm not saying this is the best film I've ever seen, but it was the perfect film to get lost in when I needed it most.

I've always been envious of people who can write well. I don't review films on Letterboxd because my written English is poor and I find it extremely difficult to express myself. I know why I enjoy certain films, but I can't put those feelings into words that would be captivating to read.

Did I watch more films pre-Letterboxd than I remember?

I'm experiencing a strange phenomenon where I only realise a film is a rewatch around 2/3rds of the way through. There's likely been 20 years between views, but I'd like to think I'd remember some of the setup.

Only after establishing a film is a repeat viewing, do I get a clearer memory of the earlier scenes. This has now happened to me three times in the last ten days. I'm…

It's been surpassed by The Batman, but it's clearly still in the upper echelons of superhero films. It feels its length at times, which is disappointing when you consider Batman Begins is only ten minutes shorter, yet impeccably paced. But it's undeniably a thrilling spectacle and I'll continue to enjoy it for years to come.

    Aaron Eckhart remains the MVP.

    Family film night: dealers choice.

I wasn't jonesing to watch this again after only three months, but this was an absolute blast and worth it to see my family squirm for a few hours.

It's hard to believe that this was Caroline Fargeat's directorial debut, because it feels like you're watching a master at work.

The Substance and Revenge have different cinematographers, but there are clear similarities in their artistic direction.

I'm excited to see what Caroline does next and hopefully we won't have to wait another seven years to find out!

I Saw The Devil, Parasite, Decision to Leave, The Handmaiden........South Koreans certainly know how to treat every frame of a movie like a work of art!

If you're in Europe then I can't recommend the Curzon Blu-rays enough. Along with Parasite, I don't think I've ever seen a movie look so good on the small screen. If you're a film fanatic, you owe it to yourself to see these stunning films in the best quality possible.

Two days after watching Bone Tomahawk, Krueger saying "I'm gonna split you in two", put me a little on edge!
