  everything this does is sadly too obvious for its own good. the way the camera keeps focusing gratuitously on these women's bodies is just like in revenge; i don't think it's as effective here. the shots of the older elisabeth hurtling down the hallway in her yellow coat made me laugh really hard

  oh my god. this is so good and it's heartbreaking! the sound design and score are so well-done and so successful in enhancing the horror and melodrama. the silence as earth-shattering information is learned while the viewer is separated by a glass door. is joe a really good ally or is it also personal for him (seriously, what do we think)? also, regardless of wyler's and those who worked on this film's true views and intentions, this contained way more…
