I think the Fast & Furious franchise is peak cinema, and am willing to fight to the death to defend it.

Rewatched this to get the taste of a truly terrible movie out of my mouth, and god it was a delight.

Some brilliant laugh out loud moments, some great heart to it, and dear god Joan Cusack is incredible.

Michelle Yeoh deserves better than this.
It feels like she's trying her absolute best, but a distinctly ropey script (that makes it very clear this was originally supposed to be a series and was hastily converted to a movie - you can see where each episode's plot beats were), some woefully underdeveloped side characters, and absolutely dreadful humour make it a slog to get through.

I'm not much of a Trek person, but I feel so bad for real Trek fans.

Honestly, people reviewbombing this movie are haters.
Does it have some clunky expository dialogue? Yes. Is there some awkward ADR? Yes.
But the four female leads have great chemistry together, and that really helps carry along this early 00's style slasher horror with superhero trimmings.
The way they portray Cassie's precognisis is interesting and fun, Sydney Sweeney gets some genuine laugh out loud lines, and Dakota Johnson gets to portray a wonderfully prickly lead.

If you're giving this movie half a star and saying MORBIUS is better? Maybe indulge in a little self-examination, let yourself connect to her web.
