  thoughts: 
  •immediately after watching- yeah that’s enough horror for today. i watched this and the witch back to back my brain was so tired. cartoons needed
  •better than the first smile in every way and i hope this continues 
  •i loved the choice to have the victim to be a celebrity, absolute perfect storm of events

  super tense when it was being horror, but when the movie was over i felt kinda underwhelmed. it’s like i kept waiting for it to “really get started” and it never did
  ^wrote this day of and then forgot to post it 😌 my verdict stands, it was good but idk.. meh? maybe my expectations were too high at the time

  watched this last week also, i have no words. i struggled to understand what was “actually” happening for a while instead of just accepting it was kind of up to interpretation? more depressing than i thought it’d be. definitely gonna rewatch eventually

  a rewatch (actually on halloween night, kept getting up to pass out candy to kiddos). i’ve seen this a million times because for some reason it stands out as the first horror movie that ever actually scared me? i like that it wastes no time ramping up supernatural mischief and the struggle to survive towards the end has enough action while still maintaining spooky vibes? idk i find it convincing. i also like it better than other annabelle movies. my one gripe is the “YOUR SOULLLLL” moment but what more do i expect from the conjuring franchise lol
