The Sound of Music 1965
Usually dismiss movies from this era as stuffy and boring, if not openly obnoxious. Seeing the runtime for this definitely put me off for a long time, so I was blown away by how good it was. The songs were all catchy, and the dialogue was a lot more smart and quick paced than I expected. The plot really takes off in the second half and I was on the edge of my seat.

Stacked cast, funny dialogue, great lighting and shot composition, this movie fucks. I’d go as far as to call this the Gen Z Heathers, a bitchy black comedy that is as irreverent and goofy as it is gory. A delightfully bloody romp through a claustrophobic mansion, barely lit underneath shaky iPhone lights. The vibe is so suffocating, and the tension so thick, I felt like one of these lesbians might jump through the screen and kill me, too. Watch this shit tonight. It’s like a Drag Race retelling of Lord of the Flies.
