Coma 2022
Bonello throws his obsessions into a blender and barely hits pulsate. A bold, bracing primal scream of a movie. Lack of narrative is a plus and a minus. It’s a very Lynch-ian affair, a collection of interludes. Kind of like Mulholland Dr in miniature. It’s a curious dazzling half baked mood piece.

Kim Ki-duk is the king of reductive thinking. The main conceit here (which is spelled out for us like we’re in a kindergarten class) is absolutely psychotic: Lust awakens the desire to possess, which awakens the desire to murder. This would be camp if it were more interesting. Throw in the fact that animals were surely mistreated on set and you have a steaming pile of garbage.
