  Really fun in the first half! Sadly the second half was a toothless version of The Truman Show.

  Somehow deluded myself in the first hour into thinking this would be an indictment of the destruction wrought by the arbitrary and abusive whims of billionaires only to realize that it was a romcom about the transformative power of dance.

  The first time I saw this film, I watched it on DVD in the DVD player that was in the back of our family car when I was 11. The second time (today) I watched it in the Paris Theatre in NYC with my friend Peter. Both times, after the film cut to black, I couldn’t reconcile a world in which this movie exists and yet we still have a for-profit medical system and the death penalty in the US. When will we stop “needing” films like this “now more than ever”?
