A beautifully poignant film that evokes an array of emotions, A Silent Voice is not your typical romance anime movie. I wouldn't really say it's about romance at all. A Silent Voice is about the character development and the progression of the characters as they seek to redeem themselves.
"Velvet Buzzkill" would have been a more apt title for this abominable piece of work. The film makes it difficult to feel any sort of empathy or connection with the characters as they are all selfish with no redeeming qualities to boot. Great movie, if simply looking at the visuals and effects. However, Scorch Trials was severely disappointing in terms of story progression and pacing. Every "tense" moment was predictable and you never really felt like the main character was in much danger. I think the director lived up to his name and really dropped the Ball on this one. All in all, this movie gets a hard pass from me. Too many ambiguities and cliche moments make this installment a chore to watch. Not to mention there weren't even ANY mazes in this movie at all.
