The 400 Blows 1959
Cool movie, my 9 year old son actually watched the whole thing and enjoyed it which surprised me. The shots of these young kids running around Paris is thrilling, especially since it’s from a different era. It’s hard to watch this movie and not think about how cool it would be to have the run of Paris as a child growing up at that time, there were some really funny scenes as well. I did find myself getting a little bored toward the end of it but the ending was kind of cool and thought provoking. Would recommend!

Fascinating film. Because this film was directed immediately after the war and the director filmed the movie on location in Berlin and used local actors and actresses there is a ton of authenticity, which I loved! I thought the film did a great job of portraying the evils of nazism through the eyes of the losers of the war, some even ex nazis, the director didn’t (or couldn’t) use modern anti war/nazi tropes to show this either. I think a movie like this is incredibly important and worth watching.
