This film had so much colour yet it was in black and white, this film is an eye opener. Amazing that it’s over 70 years old and holds up very well, it’s clear how much this film has influenced later cinema. Completely revolutionised cinematic storytelling at the time and redefined the historical epic with its powerful storytelling, superb composition and camera work, stunning sound work, and of course its brilliant often hilarious yet deeply flawed characters.
