The sequel to the original Suicide Squad kept a similar sort of goofy sense of humor and intense fight scenes with convicted criminals with super abilities over again forming a squad to complete a major task in taking down Starro a giant star fish that had the capability to fly Starfish onto people’s faces and control them. I found polka dot and the big shark funny and I really liked the connection between the rat girl and idris elba’s characters.
Somehow exactly what I expected, yet exceeded my expectations.
Captured a unique ability to be nostalgic, yet current. It was dramatic yet hilarious. One spectator next to me (who happened to be the girl who took me to see it in the first place) experienced a range of emotions from tears to singing and even some sleeping having come off her third straight day of 12 hour shifts.
All in all, I do plan to see it in theaters again and dare I say it competes with a masterpiece of musical theater in The Greatest Showman, as being my all time favorite musical.
This film is one that I struggled to sit patiently through as I felt I knew what was to come all along. After getting to the end I wound up being proven wrong and the movie came to a shocking and thrilling end.
