this movie got way better on rewatch and as in the first one there was quite a bit i didn't pick up on with my first viewing. Of course a movie like this should fit very well with rewatches but this movie really really does. its now quite close to 5 stars but is just shy with a few extraneous lines and being a bit less subtle than Knives Out. a great movie that I can't wait to rewatch again in a week.

if I had a nickel for everything time I saw a movie hyped as one of the scariest ever, with a masterfully compelling first half, that ultimately concludes in a disappointing final reveal in which every interesting or complex plot element is neutered by explaining it all by devil worshipping, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
