Post 9/11 America was a very strange place and for some reason this movie perfectly encapsulates that strangeness for me. Like, I can see why this was popular in 2002. M Knight really had his finger on the pulse with this one.
I thought it was fun as a campy, self aware monster movie, but it’s insistence on pushing the heavy handed faith storyline kinda lost me. I couldn’t tell if the movie expected me to take it seriously or…
