This will be my final Letterboxd entry indefinitely. I love this service with all my heart but their continued support of TMDb's appalling, anti-filmmaker polices has shown me that they have no interest in being fair to filmmakers and I have to stand up for what's right. Extremely overlooked. I understand that the films target audience is 5 year olds with short attention spans but I love it to death even as an adult. It's visually gorgeous. A seamless mix of 2D and 3D animation. Will Ferrell's vocal performance is great. Makes me wish he'd do more voice work because he's really good at it. Richard Jenkins is one of my favorite actors working today and he basically makes this film. As someone with high functioning autism, I found his performance authentic and moving. Autism is rarely depicted accurately in movies so I was really impressed with that aspect of the film. I just wish it was at the forefront instead of being a subplot.
