This is one of those films where even if I didn't like the story I would have to praise it. This is Robert Eggers at his finest which is saying something as he has never made a film that was just good, every film he has made is great and this one is a masterpiece. As someone who will be teaching German Expressionism in the coming weeks this is a great starting point for my students.
