There are a few places where this movie drags, and I think a lot of the comedy falls a little flat, but my god, there are some genuinely incredible feats of choreography. It’s rare that I can call any part of a kung fu movie phantasmagoric, but, well, there’s a setpiece in the last third of this that deserves that description! The lion dance setpiece was also phenomenal, I can’t imagine the coordination that would require. I don’t think Dreadnaught is essential viewing by any means but like, damn! All right! Glad I stumbled into this!

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie 2024
It's a miracle this got made at all. Genuinely if you think you'd be interested in this, go see it. It’s a movie for people who love Looney Tunes (which should be everyone) and especially Porky Pig and Daffy Duck (the best of the Looney Tunes). Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
Kinda just ok! Suffers from pacing issues, and it never really excites me in the mode that Fury Road does. Chris Hemsworth is really fun to watch, and I enjoy Anya Taylor-Joy, but there's a lack of a vector here that makes it difficult for me to love. Maybe I just need to be more in the mood for it? Whatever. Worth a watch probably but don't run, walk. Giving this a 7/10 because I feel split. That joke worked better before I edited this to a 2.5. Alas.

The Batman 2022
I decided to watch part of this every night based on the nights it’s set on (Thursday Halloween to Election Night Tuesday), and like, fuck, this is probably the best modern live-action superhero movie, I was gonna write about it, it was gonna be great.
Unfortunately! The end of it hits a little different now! Fuck!
