So happy this movie lived up to the hype for me. I love The Florida Project but I’m not as high on Tangerine and Red Rocket.
Anora had me enthralled the entire runtime. Pacing and editing was top tier.
Sean Baker is a master of his craft, writing, directing, and editing all his films.
Mikey Madison absolutely crushed it and I expect an Oscar nomination for her. That final scene was devastating.
Certainly Sean Baker’s “biggest” film, I’m glad he finally got a decent budget.

It is hard to believe this is my first time logging The Departed, despite it probably being my most rewatched movie ever. It came out my junior year of high school, and I saw it three times in theaters. It changed my movie watching life forever.
I owned this movie on HD DVD. Remember those? In case you don’t remember the HD DVD vs Blu Ray moment in time, Blu Ray ended up winning.
