White Chicks 2004
Watched this in the background while scrolling and realized how poorly it’s aged just in the scope of the last few years….like it had aged poorly when I watched it last time like 10 yrs ago but it’s gotten worse. I will say the dance scene in the club is still fun tho

Lots of thoughts:
1) strangely Mike Love apologist at more than one part of this doc
2) Manson, but no Eugene Landy??? No Melinda???? Thankfully no John Stamos
3) Strangely no acknowledgement of Dennis and Carl’s deaths until the end of the film in a short blurb on screen
4) Brian didn’t seem too involved in this which is probably for the best. But it was still nice to see him even if for a little bit.

Death of a Unicorn 2025
The unicorn is an allegory for resource exploitation and global climate change, whereas Jenna Ortega’s devotion to the prophecy is an allegory for utilizing traditional ecological knowledge.
The reason why Ortega’s character can “tame” the unicorn is because she recognizes their sentience and respects them, therefore rendering a mutual respect and reciprocity that ultimately protects her from dying in the end.
