    Inside Out 2

    ★★½

I felt that Inside Out 2 missed its mark compared to the previous film. On one hand it’s everything you’d want in a sequel: everything that you liked about the first plus new additions which expand the experience. However I feel that these new additions in emotions within Riley’s head, although necessary to create the idea that growing up as a teenager is a significant, convoluted time in everyone’s life, actually hindered the sequel somewhat.

    The Breakfast Club

    ★★½

This is probably as mid as a film gets. The Breakfast Club is an utterly forgettable “classic.” The dialogue is as pale as Claire’s skin and there’s nothing really memorable about it. A shitty superhero film cropped with fart jokes, sex jokes, penis jokes, and cursing every sentence because that’s funny too, sprinkled in with fourth wall breaks that are more infuriating than clever. I hated it. Oh, and don’t forget to make cringey pop culture references: that’ll make the movie hip and unique.

Another banger from Edgar Wright. Debated whether or not to give this a 9/10 simply because of its editing, however I think my current rating fits this film well. Scott Pilgrim unfortunately lacks the world building, greater concrete story and cast of characters that Baby Driver met. The pacing of this film was a bit too fast for me and I think it’s the biggest flaw from an otherwise awesome viewing. Really enjoyed the video game and musical elements of its flashy and stylistic editing and aesthetics.
