beware: watching this will give you intense ptsd flashbacks of middle school. never seen a film so accurately portray the middle school experience especially for an awkward, socially anxious quiet/shy girl. i had so many bittersweet emotions surface while i reflected on my own middle experience (something i rarely look back on). genuinely funny, heartwarming, and wistful

atmospheric and nice attention to detail. andy has to be one of my favorite characters i’ve seen all year. ironically he felt more human and fleshed out than any other person aboard the ship. the zero g acid scene was probably the most unique sequence to come from this franchise installment. the last twenty minutes was fun to experience in a packed theater but that atrocity felt a little cheesy and out of place.

it felt like it half-assed everything it was trying to do (aside from the prop/costume department).

got a couple chuckles out of me but i was waiting for the credits to roll after 30 minutes.

with over 2 1/2 hours i felt like this movie accomplished so little. we were introduced to a cool new world with lots of interesting technology and politics but no real answers or solutions to anything that transpired.
that being said i’m still excited to see where the story goes after this grueling set up.
