Devastating, inventive, and poignant. It should have gotten more attention at the Oscars. 4 stars bc I found the first person pov sometimes effective, other times distracting. Either way a must see.

Wacky and fun and unexpected. Ruffalo and Pattinson were great. The political dimension was obviously spot on, but I felt like it overshadowed the more interesting conflict over what life means as a multiple. Is one life not enough to be our fullest selves? Why didn’t we meet more expendables? The best part was when 17 and 18 meet. But then the rest of the movie became about fighting creepers (who I grew to love), when the ultimate goal was to end 3D human printing. I wanted to relate to the expendables more. Overall it was trying to do too much.
