CGI blood splatter is a serious product of its time though, looks pretty silly now.

The Brutalist 2024
Super strong first half. Intermission hits and loses steam in part two. Then has a strong conclusion. Do we prioritise the destination or the journey? The Brutalist’s thesis statement is the destination is all that matters. My thoughts is the journey could’ve been 30 minutes shorter and still got to the same destination.
Beautiful sound design and cinematography. Great performances by the main cast. Special shout-out to Guy Pearce who is creepy and uncomfortable from his first appearance.
Has some interesting commentary on power, obsession and the American Dream.
I enjoyed The Brutalist, found it intellectually stimulating.
