  i remember watching this at a summer camp's movie night and while two groups of couples took turns making out with each other, and a friend of mine sobbed over it, i zeroed into this film. if it could engage deeply entrenched in tween-esque drama 14 year old me i'm sure it could engage any of you. but forreal, how many times have you seen (popularish) brown girlhood, sic extreme emotional/physical violence, onscreen since this film. (don't hold me to that but i do feel Strongly about this film and further representation ((or lack there of)) of young brown girls)
