Disturbia 2007
Again, my soft spot for these kinds of cheesy 90s & 00s thrillers just gets over me.
I don't think this movie's anything special, the plot is a reworking of Hitchcock's Rear Window, it's also a kind of undercooked romance (the second undercooked romance thriller starring Shia LaBeouf that came out in 2007, funny enough). It really should be dime a dozen material by all accounts.
But still, I dunno, there's something in here that makes me appreciate it. The script…

To Boldly Flee 2012
This movie has 3 first acts and 7 third acts. And all of them conflict with each other and make the tone a complete mess.

The World's End 2013
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Last time I watched it, I dismissed it for not being Hot Fuzz.
I think I know why I didn't like it as much, it promises a way different film before it suddenly turns into an Edgar Wright movie. It's still very good. It's a very bold looking film and it still feels like a real movie by a real director despite how much greenscreen it's gained during the 2010s.
And the message of technology being anti-human has only gotten stronger with time. I hate to admit it, but Gary King truly never is wrong.

The Evil Dead 1981
I don't know if I can genuinely call this a good movie, but fuck if there isn't just a touch of something special in there.
The fun part is that not only does the movie get better as it progresses, but the filmmaking also gets better. It's funny seeing touches of future Raimi movies slowly creep in as he starts to get more comfortable behind the camera.
Or Raimi just gets more powerful the more he gets to torture Bruce Campbell.
