always kind of unfortunate in this Day And Age when rlly impressive and visceral practical effects are wasted on pretty mediocre movies. a lot of the editing and aesthetic choices were so bad that they crossed over from being offputting/confusing to feeling genuinely incompetent. it was also kind of hard to gauge if the dialogue was really bad on purpose or for the sake of this kind of campy 80s horror movie pastiche but the pastiche only really felt effective…
