Napoleon 2023
There’s maybe one kind of funny line in this movie. Otherwise it’s a disjointed mess with randomly chopped up and spliced together scenes that neither give enough political context or personal background to make this at all interesting. Not sure who was more bored, rizzless Joaquin playing Napoleon or me watching him. Horrible, dull, long battle scenes and terrible teenage boy-like sex scenes (at least those were over quickly).

Armageddon Time 2022
At it’s core this movie seems to want to provide an origin story for the Trumps and how they emerged out of Queens. It is understated in certain ways, and Donald never appears or is mentioned, but so much so that it’s often boring. I still can’t resist this because it’s the most detailed and specific reference to the exact neighborhood I’m from that I’ve ever seen in pop culture.
