first off, objectively a very ambitious and technically impressive mini series. genuinely don’t know how they did this (probably a combination of sneaky editing and drones) but it is such a treat to watch and the way it manages to intertwine narratives and subplots yet maintaining its one take cinematography was amazing. however, having hour long, one take episodes isn’t enough to be a good mini series, so how does it far plot wise? it’s pretty good! ep 1 & 3…

i feel like nothing actually happened in this movie. like once the credits ran and they had the epilogue text come on screen, i had already forgotten most of this movie. characters are introduced, conflict is developed(?), and then it kinda fizzles out so we can have the typical big finale performance biopics are known for. every female character (who are based off of REAL PEOPLE) get zero development. like sylvia’s character arc is basically just listening to bob sing, reacting, and then crying sometimes. like idk this just feels like another biopic

i love it when yorgos is weird. i love it when a director makes a movie that, in a way, feels like a “fuck you” to the audience. a couple walked out of the theater after the second segment. i overheard them saying it was just “way too weird”. makes me feel so cool and artsy for liking it so much
