  I get it. I just didn’t particularly like it. It’s fun to laugh at the over-the-top satire, but it kinda falls apart when it just...makes Robocop look cool. You can’t have that cake, you ate it.

  If you can make me literally cheer and shout with a red and white checkerboard pattern and nothing else on screen, you have mastered visual storytelling. This movie is a kaleidoscope in the same way that Spiderverse is, but somehow even less realistic.

  Hats off to Rian for one of the most tightly constructed scripts this decade. And hats off to Bob Ducsay and the editing team for making such a complex plot and such a large cast so effortlessly easy to follow. 

  Funny and heartfelt, incisive and subversive, Rian Johnson continues to prove his love (and mastery) of film and his deep passion for opening gates.

Following
