  Nosferatu 2024

  It's very well done, I just wanted to like it more. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the tone, how it was shot, the effects, sets, basically everything about it being a fun movie to watch, but it wasn't impactful in other ways. Not sure if it was the pacing or being VERY aware of the acting or even it being pretty campy/absurd at times but it didn't stick with me like other vampire movies have. I probably just need to give it time.

  Really like the themes around folklore and its connection to plagues. Skarsgard as Orlock is worth the watch.

  It 1990

  Watched this for the first time AFTER watching the 2017 version and sequel years ago. I liked those movies and really have had no good reason to not watch this movie until now so shame on me. Haven't read the book, either, strike two.

  It's impossible not to compare the two so as briefly as possible, enjoyed the acting more in the new ones, but liked the script, effects and clown more in the first one.

  I could watch both Tim Curry and John Ritter do anything for hours so that was a treat.

  Zombies were top tier, humans were dumber than I’ve ever seen. Earns two stars automatically for an underwater zombie/shark fight. Really wish movies like this didn’t have ADR.

  I avoided this film for a while because I thought it would be too camp, but it's the right amount of camp and a joy to watch. In my assumptions I thought it had a lot to do with Halloween, but it really doesn't, and I thought Gene Simmons and Ozzy would be trying to act like "bad dudes" or something and they didn't and their parts were perfect. I don't know why…
